Another Way To Die

Wow wow wow... Wait, let me say that once more in a louder manner. WOW!! Do ya'll know that Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohammad (yes, our former & fourth Prime Minister) is an avid blogger too? Hahaha.. I constantly forgot to link him in my blog, even though it's been quite a while since he started blogging, writing his precious thoughts & opinions. Discovered about his blog in a local newspaper a few months ago, & I've been keeping myself updated about him. I respect him and all his effort in improving & making Malaysia a better country. Father of Modernisation, they call him. Thank you, Tun Mahathir, for bringing up our country to it's current status. I've linked him, you can find it under the 'Friends & Links' column. Please, do pay his blog a visit. His political thoughts are worth reading.

Right, so here's an expected review from me on the latest installment in the Bond series; Bond 22, or Quantum of Solace. Yeah, it's kinda hard to believe that James Bond was actually a character created about half a century ago by Ian Fleming, and 22 movies have been made with 6 different actors portraying him. Not to mention that the 23rd Bond movie has been announced & will go into production, probably around 2009-2010.

First of all, I'd like to stress on an important thing; it's Quantum of Solace, not Quantum of Shoelace as how I had mistakenly pronounced the title when I read it for the first time. LoL. So let's see what do we have in this rather interesting action package; if I were to compare this to Casino Royale, I'd say that Casino Royale is much better than QoS. Err, well maybe not MUCH better, but still simply better. There were too much action with too little opportunities for Bond to display his intelligence, as opposed to Casino Royale which obviously featured more mind games than mumbo-jumbo, big bang explosions. If you've watched the promotional trailer for QoS, you've already watched 75% of the contents in the movie. No, I'm not kidding. The agent wrecked his Aston Martin in a car chase early in the movie, which made the appearance of that hot luxury sports car a little less than 10 minutes. Not that the movie sucked, but there're simply too many mind-boggling action scenes. Overally, Casino Royale bests QoS in terms of storyline, and QoS wins by throwing an Alfa Romeo off a cliff in the opening of the movie and by having a vengeful Bond that kills almost everything that obstructs his way. The theme song isn't that good either. Performed by Alicia Keys & Jack White, Another Way To Die is the first duet song in the Bond series. I prefer Chris Cornell's You Know My Name, the theme song for Casino Royale over this. 4.4 out of 5 stars.

And guess what? I've finally watched The Coffin too. So there'll be another review from me for today.. Mwahahah.. LoL. Yeah, 2 movies in 1 day, haven't done that in a long long time already, and I had my chance today.

So what do I have to say about The Coffin? Well, the lying-in-a-coffin ritual isn't unusual, Thailand is already well known for all the crazy things. LoL. Story might be confusing, it's actually about 2 persons that underwent the ritual at 2 seperate times and found their wishes granted but experiences paranormality right after that. The Coffin carries more sad & heart-moving virtues rather than attempting to scare it's audience into shitting their pants. I'd say this is a horror movie for the faint-hearted. Haha. Nevertheless, the creativity of the director still manages to give you a shock every now and then. 4.0 out of 5 stars.

I've uploaded Another Way To Die by Alicia Keys & Jack White, so it's time that I should share it with ya'll. Don't be expecting too much out of it; it's not that good despite fine guitar chords by Jack White from The White Stripes.
